Our Story

Over a decade ago, God called Barry and Mandy to the communities of Conestee and Moonville in south Greenville to live, serve, and do ministry. For years, they poured into the people and places of South Greenville, building relationships and sharing the love of Jesus.

Eventually, the Lord led them to a new season of ministry elsewhere. But even from a distance, they watched as the area they once called home began to grow—rapidly and almost overnight. Time after time, people would ask Barry about the community he used to serve. His answer was always the same: South Greenville desperately needs more churches.

These conversations kept happening—year after year, person after person. Then in 2024, something changed. While listening to the story of another church planter, Barry felt God speak directly to him. He had spent years asking others to pray for church planters to come to South Greenville. But the truth was, God had already raised one up.

It was him.

After much prayer and reflection, Barry and Mandy surrendered to God’s call once again—this time, to plant a new church in the very community they’ve loved for so long.

South Greenville Community Church was born from that calling. We exist to lead people to follow Jesus who serve in community and love South Greenville.

This is just the beginning of our story—but it’s far from the end. We believe God is writing something beautiful here, and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
